How to Set Gmail and/or Google Calendar as Your Default Mail and Calendar Clients in Chrome

Do you ever click a link to an email address or calendar event and get frustrated when Apple Mail or Apple Calendar opens up rather than Gmail or your Google Calendar? Google Chrome makes it easy to make your Gmail and Google Calendar accounts the default when clicking linked email addresses and calendar events. Switching is as easy as 3 clicks!

Gmail
While in your Gmail:
  1. Click on the double diamond next to the star on the right side of the address bar
  2. Click "Allow"
  3. Click "Done"

Calendar
While in your Google Calendar:
  1. Click on the double diamond next to the star on the right side of the address bar
  2. Click "Allow"
  3. Click "Done"

If you do not see a double diamond in the address bar, your Google Apps are already your default client. If you want to check, go to your Google Chrome settings (3 vertical dots) > Show advanced settings > Privacy > Content settings > Handlers > Manage handlers.
