Collaborate more easily in Google Slides through a new ‘Follow’ feature

Ever working on a large slideshow with another person and getting frustrated because you don't know what slide a collaborator is discussing or working on? Now it's possible to "follow" another person as they navigate and edit a slideshow.

To follow a collaborator while editing a slideshow, click on their avatar in the Slides toolbar at the top of the screen, and your view will to jump to whatever slide they are on, and continue to move with them as they navigate and make changes to a presentation.

In the gif below, I am "following" a colleague as they make edits jumping from one slide to the next. At this time I am not doing anything, just watching my colleague work.

To stop following a collaborator, click on their avatar again. You will also stop following the collaborator if:
  • The collaborator refreshes or leaves the presentation.
  • You make any edits to the presentation.
  • You click a different slide.
  • You enter Slideshow mode.
Visit Google Help to learn more about following a collaboration on Google Slides.
