Three Different Ways to Interact with Gemini

You can start a conversation with Gemini in three easy ways:

• Type your question: Simply enter your query into the chat box.

• Voice command: Click the microphone icon and speak your question directly to Gemini.

• Image upload: Upload an image to prompt a response or ask a question about it.

Tailored Responses

Gemini offers multiple draft options for each response, allowing you to choose the best fit. You can also:

• Listen to the response: Have Gemini read the response aloud.

• Quick regenerations: Access a list of alternative responses, including shorter, longer, simpler, more casual, or more professional versions.

• Share and save: Export responses to Google Docs or create email drafts for easy sharing and future reference.

Gemini offers features to enhance your experience:

• Generate images: Gemini can generate an image in response to an image or a written prompt.

• Language Translation: Translate text between languages.

• Code Generation and Explanation: Generate code snippets and explain complex code concepts.

• Creative Writing Assistance: Get help with essays, poems, and scripts.

• Summarization: Summarize long articles or documents.

Seamless Conversation Experience

• Multi-conversation support: Easily switch between different conversations and pick up where you left off.

• Pinned conversations: Keep important conversations at the top for quick access.

• Conversation history: Review your past conversations for up to 18 months. 

Gemini for Education is new and includes most of the free and some of the paid features, but not all. Some features, such as Gemini Extensions, are still in beta. You will find that the more you use it, the more it generates responses tailored to you.
