1. Put your folders in order using numbers.
Since the default sort in the left menu is alphabetical, numbers can give you a bit more control over your display. Names with numbers at the beginning will move to the top of the list in numerical order. Note: this will only work for numbers up to 9. Once you choose 10 and above it will start to display out of order, 1, then 10, then 2, then 20, etc.
2. Change the color of your folders.
New folders will show as the default gray color. There are two ways to change the color. You can right-click (control click) for a popup menu, or click on the down arrow next to the name of the folder and choose Change color from the drop down menu.
3. Add emojis!
First you will need to either add an extension called Emoji for Google Chrome or use a website like EmojiCopy which will allow you to easily copy and paste an emoji into the name box of a Google folder. To use the Emoji for Google Chrome extension, click in the name box where you want the emoji, click on the extension icon and then on the emoji you would like to paste into the box. To use EmojiCopy, just copy and paste the emoji into the name box.
