Quick Fix for Wonky Screens on Student Chromebooks

When a Chromebook screen goes wonky, it is often the result of enabling Accessibility features. Most often these are enabled by students in the Accessibility menu but can also be enabled using keyboard shortcuts.

When needed, Chromebook Accessibility features can be of great help. When not, they can be disruptive to the use of the Chromebook.

Here is a very short video that shows how to turn off Accessibility features.

There are also keyboard shortcuts you or your students can use to enable and disable Accessibility features instead of opening the Accessibility Menu.

Three useful keyboard shortcuts are:

Magnify your whole screen (repeat keystroke to turn off)
Search Search + Ctrl + m
Magnify part of your screen (repeat keystroke to turn off)
Search Search + Ctrl + d
Turn ChromeVox (spoken feedback) on or off
Ctrl + Alt + z
