Can't Find Your Google Contacts?

Google Contacts has been moved from being part of Gmail to its own separate app. You can access your Contacts from the app launcher (waffle).

The new Contacts interface has the blue bar at the top as seen in the image below.

The two interfaces are quite similar but if you would like to go back to the old interface, you can do so until February 12, 2019 when the old Contacts interface will no longer be available. Just click on "Switch to the old version" in the lower left.

What's New in the New Google Contacts?
  • The new Contacts page keeps everything that you've set up under the old Contacts interface intact, so you won't lose any groups or starred contacts.
  • Sweeping Material Design visual overhaul
    • The top of the page is your starred contacts, followed by those you email most frequently, followed by a long list of all of your contacts, including people you've placed in a Google+ circle.
  • The new Contacts includes a much improved duplicate finding feature.
  • Your contact list will stay up to date by pulling things like job titles and email addresses (if they're publicly shared) from a user's Google profile.
  • Recent email conversations are available directly in your address book for quick reference. Just open a Contact to view.
  • Random people you've emailed with over the years have been removed from your contacts list.
