Google Forms Gets a Sharing Upgrade

Google Forms has recently received an update to its sharing permissions. This change brings it more in line with other Google Workspace products like Docs, Sheets, and Slides, giving users more granular control over who can access and respond to their forms.

What's New?

  • Form creators can now limit access to specific individuals or groups.
  • This new feature provides more flexibility in managing who can view and respond to your form.
  • Teachers can now create quizzes and assignments accessible only to their students.
  • You can revoke responders access from the sharing settings

How to Use the New Sharing Settings

  • Create Your Form
  • Click the new purple "Publish" button in the top right corner of your form.
  • If you want to change who can fill out the form (Responders), click on "Manage".

  • Choose a Sharing Option:
    • Restricted: Manually add email addresses or Groups you want to allow access.
Note: Teachers can create Google Groups with students for easy sharing.
    • MSAD #51: Share it with everyone at MSAD #51
    • MSAD #51 Staff: Share it with all MSAD #51 staff.
    • Anyone with the link: Generate a public link
  • Click "Publish"

Responder vs. Editor: Remember that "Responders" can only fill out the form, while "Editors" can modify the form's structure and content.
