Spruce Up Your Google Meet Presentations with New Annotation Tools

Google Meet now offers annotation tools to enhance your presentations. Presenters and their chosen co-annotators can draw, highlight, and add notes directly on the shared screen, making your content more engaging and interactive.

Annotating Made Easy

By default, annotations are turned on when you start presenting your screen. A light blue toolbar box appears at the bottom of your screen, giving you access to a variety of tools.

Tools available include:
  • Pen: Draw freehand for emphasis or sketching ideas.
  • Disappearing Ink: Perfect for brainstorming sessions where notes automatically fade away after a set time.
  • Stickers: Add a touch of fun and informality to your presentation.
  • Text Box: Type in explanations, key points, or questions for viewers.
  • Sticky noes: add additional content.
  • And more!

Collaborate with Co-annotators

You can appoint specific participants as co-annotators. Simply open the participant list, find the chosen user, and select "Add as co-annotator" from the three-dot menu.

These new annotation tools are perfect for various situations:

  • Brainstorming Sessions: Capture ideas in real-time using disappearing ink or sticky notes.
  • Interactive Classrooms: Enhance learning by building on concepts visually. Imagine highlighting sentence structures or key information to guide students through problem-solving.
  • Math Class? Demonstrate problem-solving steps visually, making explanations clear and engaging.

No need to invite people to your Google Meet to use these new Annotation Tools while presenting in your classroom
